Unless the Lord builds the house, we labor in vain

it has been quite a week of surprises!
Surprise #1: WaiKin left his I/C at the pool centre! and none of us realized he did not collect it back
Surprise #2:Realized the exams are so close only when they were right under my nose
Surprise #3:Became Program Coordinator for evangelistic event without realizing it
Surprise #4:Publicity for evangelistic event is down to only one week
Surprise #5:So many surprises!

Indeed as the song goes.. Unless the Lord builds the house, we labor in vain.. the important question is that are we doing what God wants us to do? if not, we will be laboring in vain! my exams are in 2 days time and I'm not adequately prepared for it. However, I'm really gonna dedicate my Mid-Years to the Lord! I pray that I will adopt a study attitude that glorifies God and even if i do not do well in my exams, may I be able to do well for God's test! Amen!

Too much Wisdom!

WAh~ my brains are frying! not from studying..but from the Word of God! was reading up the book of Proverbs and had a lot of catching up to do since I skipped many many days for bible reading liao.. King Solomon is really amazingly and powerfully blessed with the gift of Wisdom! and it's really burning up my brains just to read and understand it! (well..actually i don't understand it fully yet) I guess one of the learning points was that Wisdom is more precious than jewels and is essential that we are hungry for Wisdom as it leads to fear of the Lord. [Proverbs 2:1-5]

Mid-years will be coming up in 6 days! less than a week! and I haven conquered much at all.. Prayer Warriors out there! You'll be working overtime this week praying for me! (=p) Good thing is, I believe that God will see me through the exams. Even if I fail in my exams, may I be able to pass in the Lord's test! (Amen!)

Had a cell movie outing today at Jurong Entertainment Centre. Oh man! It was a real terrible location to have a movie because there is practically nothing left to do after watching the movie! In the end, we all went home since we were wrecking our little minds just trying to reach a consensus on where to go after the movie. well.. Nigel wanted to pay my house a visit though. hope you had fun in my house today Nigel!

Been quite a long while since I've done this..

Farewell..

Commander Julian and his newly wedded wife Mabel will be moving to Melbourne, Australia in 2 days time! today the Royal Ranger commanders held a steamboat session at G1 for them! Wasted sia.. we (me, my sis and mum) came late and missed a BIG portion of the steamboat session. Only managed to see each other for about half an hour then they had to leave liao. However, they will be back in 2 years time. Hopefully and more important Prayerfully, they will come back with one or more babies after 2 years! WooHoo~ can't wait to see them move up into parenthood. Really wanna take this time to thank Commander Julian for his commitment to Royal Rangers for the past few years. Thanks A Lot man! God has indeed used you to impact many of our Rangers. Maybe it may not be obvious now, but I believe that whatever you have done, it is of eternal value to the building of God's Kingdom! you have left a milestone in G1 Royal Ranger Ministry. Really pray that you will have a great time in Australia. I can see that God is going to stretch your faith. Indeed wherever God places us, therein is our ministry. It is not by chance or coincidence that you are moving to Australia but by God's divine appointment that he is going to place you in a ministry where you can grow in the Lord!

Dear God,I pray that Commander Julian and his wife will grow to be more sensitive to Your voice. To seek Your direction in every decision and to include You in every equation and calculation. May your favor surround them like a shield that whoever comes in contact with them will sense Your awesome presence around them. Let Your presence go before them and conquer the land even before they step foot on Australia. I pray that You will stretch their faith like a rubberband and grant them open doors to available ministries that they are able to commit themselves to in Australia. Work through them and use them as Your tools to build and edify the Kingdom of God. Let them not be discouraged by problems that may arise as we as Christians are called to be joyful in trials that we may face. (James 1:2-4). Let them not grow weary in serving You and doing Your works and teach them to draw strength and stamina from You. I thank You that You will be their God in every part of the world. In Jesus' most victorious name I pray, Amen!

A passage that God has impressed upon my heart for you guyz. 1Corinthians 12:12-31. Indeed, even as different parts of the Body of Christ, we are A UNIT in God. Time and Place does not matter but our purposes in Christ are intertwined together. Let's Rock the world for Jesus!

Divinity in Dirt

WooHoo~ I'm finally back from Grace Retreat 2007! really enjoyed myself there until fell sick.. now still have some side effects of pretty bad cough and throat pain. However, I am going to believe that healing will come from God! This retreat has indeed been a milestone for me in my spiritual journey with God. 3 more important lessons that I have learnt :
1. Divinity in Dirt (the divine Holy Spirit is in our dirt body), with divinity in us, we are able to have equity exchange of knowledge with God. It is so amazing that God is so willing to place in us such divinity.
2.God speaks to us 24/7! Are we listening? We need to learn to block out all distractions around us and tune ourselves to God in everything
3.Prophetic Encouragement;
Love(motive)+Encouragement(purpose)+Scriptural(content) = Bull's eye

Testimony:
It was the 3rd morning(6th June) and I was attending devotion (on devotion) when I recieved a Word of comfort from God. The scripture that we were supposed to focus on that morning was Luke 10:38-42(NLT).
38
As Jesus and the disciples continued on their way to Jerusalem, they came to a certain village where a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home.
39
Her sister, Mary, sat at the Lord’s feet, listening to what he taught.
40But Martha was distracted by the big dinner she was preparing. She came to Jesus and said, “Lord, doesn’t it seem unfair to you that my sister just sits here while I do all the work? Tell her to come and help me.”
41But the Lord said to her, “My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details!
42
There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.”
I was then brought to the attention of the words (in bold) and then the worries of my studies floated into my mind. I was reminded that I has purposely brought my Geography,Physics and GP materials to Retreat thinking that I would squeeze out time to study them during the Retreat. I began to reflect on what I have done and God seemed to speak to me that I did not have to worry about my studies. Just as Martha thought that the Big dinner was something that was of higher priority than God and His teachings, so I have also placed my studies over God. I was encouraged by that Word. On the same day for the combined morning service, Reverend Sam Farina (Cool Pastor man!) was speaking on how we can prophetically encourage someone by listening to the voice of God on who He wanted us to encourage. I began to seek the Lord for direction and Serene Tan's name dropped into my heart. At that point of time, she was falling ill due to an unusual occurrence of rashes on her body. I began to ask God for a verse that I could encourage her and the verse about we being healed by His stripes came to my mind. I moved forward on Reverend Sam's instruction and went up to approach Serene. After sharing with her what the Lord has placed in my heart. She told me that indeed it was a confirmation for her as God had told her earlier that she will be healed in His timing. I was excited that God had actually used me as a tool for encouragement. As I went back to my seat, Nigel asked me how to listen to God voice and my sister, sitting beside him, explained to him how he could do it. I was half listening to what he was enquiring as I was just mesmerized by the amazing Prophetic Word the Lord had given me. Soon after, Nigel passed me a note saying that he had a prophetic encouragement for me. When I looked at the note, I was so amazed! Because it said, (quoted)"Not to worry about your exams" and the reference was Psalm 16:11. It was a confirmation for what the Lord had impressed upon my heart during the devotion earlier on. Nigel was still frantically asking me whether it was alright. Wow! Indeed God has been so gracious to remind me that my little details( studies) pale in comparison to God and His Word. Thank God! Amen!
